June M. Hawkinson, 95, of Avon, Ohio, and formerly of Lambertville, MI, passed away Friday, August 24, 2018. Born August 3, 1923, in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of Stanley C. and Hazel (Bauer) Miller. June married Roy G. Hawkinson, Jr. on December 22, 1945. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2010. June was employed as a District Manager for Avon and then a sales rep for Townsend Carpeting in Lambertville, MI. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Temperance, MI and Ladies White Shrine – Dendarah Court 10 L.O.S.N.A. As a fantastic cook, she blessed many with her dinners. Her ability as a seamstress and knitting enhanced many lives.
Surviving are her loving children, Gary (Patricia) Hawkinson of Avon, OH, Gayle Ann Hawkinson of Jackson, MI and Janet Lynn (Ronald) Burton of Arkansas. 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Christopher Hawkinson and brother, Stanley C. Miller, Jr.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Thursday, August 30, 2018, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 1690 Sterns Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where she will lie in state after 9:30 am. Entombment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 10810 E. 45th Street, Suite 300, Tulsa, OK 74146.
